ODLC is proud to announce the recipients of the 15th annual Gordon D. MacKay Scholarship for Environmental Studies as Cora Ely and Ashley Levine. The Gordan D. MacKay Scholarship is given annually to support education and important work in environmental science for those finding new ways to conserve and steward our one precious planet. Ashley plans on studying molecular biology and biophysics in college. Her desire to learn about and find ways to conserve our vital biodiversity and open spaces stood out as an important mission to support. Cora plans to study environmental science at Virginia Tech. Her interest is in conserving land and waterways in the Commonwealth, not only for the well-being of us all, but as an important driver of economic activities such as agriculture, forestry, and tourism.
