“Hello! My name is Katelyn Cothren, and I am a senior at Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. I am working on an honors thesis project, exploring the appeal of conservation easements to landowners. The goal of the project is to better understand the impact of conservation easements on real estate transactions, including the motivations for prospective landowners to select properties with easements already on them and reasons why heirs retain their property.
To accomplish this, I am sending a survey to landowners so they can describe why they own property with a conservation easement on it. This is where I need your help!
