The Sheehan Property, owned by John and Laurette Sheehan, is located in Round Hill, Virginia, and consists of a total of 275.92 acres. Only 265.92 of these acres will enter into easement.
The Sheehan Property has about 59.81 acres of cleared fields and 216.11 acres of forest growth. The property is in the North Fork Goose Creek watershed and contains 2 unnamed streams and a pond, which is located just below the Appalachian Trail on the Blue Ridge. This property falls within the Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area as well. The Sheehan Property meets the criteria for conservation by protecting Natural Habitat and Biological Diversity. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries’ Wildlife Action plan reports a critical conservation need for this area of the state. There are 28 species with a status of Tier I for concern for conservation.
